Advances in optical sensing continue to revolutionize our world, and the field of Raman spectroscopy is now more popular than ever. There is a demand in industry and government labs for students trained in vibrational spectroscopy, and training is now more efficient with the DeltaNu teaching program. Traditionally, Raman spectrometers were too large and costly to incorporate into the undergraduate curriculum. Access was generally limited to research labs, and students would have to depart training areas to access the research facilities. Further, Raman sampling methods and software were not tailored for novice users. DeltaNu offers educators inexpensive and innovative teaching paradigms using Raman spectroscopy. The small footprint bench top design of the Advantage Series allows educators to use the equipment in the teaching labs, or the spectrometers are easily transferred to other facilities for other teaching and research projects. All of our Raman instruments are used to teach undergraduate students at various levels of education. Teaching labs are provided that cover all areas of chemistry such as organic, physical, environmental, instrumental and forensic analysis. The RockHound is used to teach students cutting edge technology for rock and mineral identification in the earth science curriculum. The RockHound can be used in the lab or the field environment.
