DeltaNu designed the world's first truly portable Raman spectrometer, the Inspector Raman, in 2004. Weighing less than 5lbs the Inspector Raman opened doors for numerous field applications. In 2005 DeltaNu took the technology a step further and developed a mineral library with over 500 samples and named the new system the RockHound. The RockHound was awarded the R&D 100 Award in 2005 for being one of the most technologically significant new products of the year. In 2008 with the need for even smaller, easy to use, portable systems increasing the Reporter and RAPID ID were created. These 11oz. systems allow a non-technical user to identify unknown materials with an easy to read OLED display.
